10-year-old girl stabbed to death in Yaoundé neighbourhood
A tragic incident has shaken the Anguissa neighbourhood in Yaoundé’s fourth district. In the night of Saturday 27 to Sunday 28 June 2026, a ten-year-old girl named Sylvana was fatally stabbed.
The young victim succumbed to multiple stab wounds allegedly inflicted by a 22-year-old woman. The suspect later claimed she acted under the influence of the Holy Spirit. The attack took place while Sylvana’s parents were away.
Authorities apprehended the presumed perpetrator on Sunday 28 June at a place of worship. She is now in police custody as investigations continue to shed light on this heinous crime.
