Diplomacy takes center stage in the presidential agenda today in Cotonou. The Head of State is sequentially receiving thirteen new diplomatic representatives who are poised to undertake their missions in the Republic of Bénin. On this occasion, each ambassador formally presented their letters of credence, the official document from their respective nations accrediting them to the Beninese President.

This essential protocol step is fundamental in international relations. It signifies the formal recognition of the ambassador by the host nation, enabling them to fully carry out their mandate of representation, fostering dialogue, and promoting cooperation with Beninese authorities. This is a key aspect of effective governance in Africa.

The esteemed diplomats represent a diverse group of thirteen countries: Mauritania, Thailand, Pakistan, Nigeria, Ghana, Vietnam, India, the United Kingdom, Cuba, Algeria, Israel, Saudi Arabia, and Chad.

One after another, these ambassadors were received by Romuald Wadagni to hand over the official documents issued by their respective states.
