The Rally of Houphouëtists for Democracy and Peace (RHDP) was initially envisioned as a grand coalition, uniting the political heirs of Félix Houphouët-Boigny, who had long been divided by disputes over his legacy. What began as a strategic alliance between former rivals Alassane Ouattara and Henri Konan Bédié, forged to confront a common adversary, Laurent Gbagbo, has profoundly reshaped Ivorian politics.
