However, the reality remains: the Aiglons were unable to overcome the league’s last-placed team on home turf, a result that could have significantly impacted their Ligue 1 future. Unexpectedly, Auxerre, who entered the match level on points with Nice, secured a decisive 2-0 victory over LOSC Lille. Similarly, Le Havre, also battling in the relegation zone, claimed a crucial 2-0 win against Lorient.
