Morocco joins gaza stabilization force with peace council commitment

The Kingdom of Morocco has officially signed the framework agreement for its participation in the International Stabilization Force (ISF) in Gaza, following the directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), as well as President of the Al-Quds Committee.

This landmark agreement was signed in Rabat during a high-level meeting chaired by Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita and Minister Delegate for National Defense Administration Abdeltif Loudyi. The gathering brought together top military officials alongside a delegation led by Nickolay Mladenov, High Representative of the Gaza Peace Council.

Humanitarian and security-driven contribution

In a statement from the National Defense Administration, the signature underscores Morocco’s role as a founding member of the Gaza Peace Council, aligning with the royal vision articulated during the council’s inaugural session in Washington. The Moroccan government emphasized the Kingdom’s unwavering dedication to peace, international cooperation, and solidarity.

The authorities also highlighted the FAR’s proven track record in United Nations peacekeeping operations and Morocco’s long-standing commitment to regional and global stability. The announcement was met with strong praise from Gaza Peace Council representatives, who commended Morocco’s involvement, which includes:

  • Deploying senior FAR officers to the ISF joint command;
  • Sending Royal Gendarmerie and National Security Directorate (DGSN) personnel;
  • Establishing a mobile military field hospital.

According to the official communiqué, the agreement sets the legal and operational framework for Morocco’s participation, reflecting a shared determination to restore peace and security in Gaza through targeted humanitarian and security measures.
