Lomé, August 14, 2026 — Four days of intense scientific exchange concluded in Lomé on Friday as the 26th edition of the West African Chemistry Conference (SOACHIM) wrapped up at the University of Lomé. Jointly organized by the Universities of Lomé and Kara, the event brought together researchers, educators, academics, and students to tackle pressing challenges in chemistry and its real-world applications.
The closing ceremony was led by Professor Gado Tchagbedji, Minister Delegate for Higher Education and Scientific Research, who highlighted the event’s achievements and the strong international participation.

The conference saw 493 scientific presentations delivered to an audience of 533 attendees from across the eight SOACHIM member countries.
