King Mohamed VI presented a comprehensive assessment of Morocco’s current trajectory, emphasizing the nation’s stability and strategic autonomy amid global instability. The address highlighted three critical pillars: the Kingdom’s stability and security, which foster public confidence; economic growth driven by industrialization and technological advancement, achieving 80% self-sufficiency in food, pharmaceutical, and automotive sectors; and the development of green energy, particularly green hydrogen. The monarch also addressed persistent inequality challenges, stressing the need to translate macroeconomic gains into tangible improvements for all Moroccan regions.

The sovereign emphasized the importance of integration plans, stating that “while accelerating economic momentum, we continue implementing numerous human development initiatives and expanding social protection to enhance living standards and achieve social and spatial justice.”

King Mohamed VI called for mobilizing national savings to consolidate recent achievements and launch a new phase of continuity following the upcoming legislative elections on September 23, 2026.

On Throne Day, the King granted clemency to 1,788 individuals, including detainees and those at liberty, according to a Justice Ministry statement.

“Praise be to God, prayers and blessings upon the Prophet, his family, and companions.

My dear people,

With immense pride and deep satisfaction, We celebrate today the twenty-seventh anniversary of Our accession to the Throne.

For twenty-seven years, divine will has entrusted Us with guiding the nation’s destiny. This mission is noble, and the responsibility vast.

In line with the Quranic verse: ‘If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor],’ We express gratitude to the Almighty for guiding Us toward success in fulfilling your aspirations and addressing your concerns.

Our pursuit has never been personal glory or the desire for continental or international leadership. Instead, Our sole concern has always been to serve you faithfully, ensuring all Moroccans live with dignity as free citizens.

Today, reviewing our collective achievements fills Us with honor and pride while instilling confidence and serenity for the future.

These results are not coincidental but stem from a clear strategic vision and governance doctrine rooted in initiative, rigorous oversight, constructive self-criticism, and forward-looking determination.

My dear people,

Morocco stands at a pivotal moment in its development journey, where an ethos of confidence and optimism must prevail over rhetoric that breeds despair and frustration.

What fills Us with the greatest pride is Morocco’s stability and security, alongside the efficient functioning of its public institutions.

Indeed, in a region and world marked by turmoil and multiple tensions, political and institutional stability is a rare and invaluable asset.

Today, stability is the key variable in Morocco’s development equation—a strategic capital that defines national pride.

My dear people,

With a millennia-long history, Morocco draws strength from its ancient traditions as a nation-state where institutions fulfill their roles in harmony and complementarity. This ensures progress continues efficiently, enabling the country to overcome challenges despite difficulties.

Morocco has demonstrated its capabilities through flawlessly organizing continental and international events, earning global admiration—though inevitably provoking envy on occasion.

Furthermore, Morocco has shown remarkable resilience in crises, as evidenced by its proactive management of floods in the Gharb and northern regions.

Amid this security and stability, coupled with institutional efficiency, positive indicators thrive across all sectors, reinforcing economic momentum and safeguarding national sovereignty.

In 2025, Morocco achieved a growth rate of approximately 4.9%, with projections for 2026 indicating similar or higher figures.

Morocco’s agricultural sector benefited from abundant rainfall and a strong harvest, enhancing water and food security.

The automotive, aeronautics, renewable energy, and agri-food industries now form the backbone of the national economy, attracting investment and generating wealth and jobs.

Morocco has become Africa’s top vehicle exporter, with an annual production capacity of nearly one million units. These sectors now account for over 40% of Morocco’s total exports, surpassing even the phosphate industry.

To support this trend, We presided over the launch of new industrial units earlier this year, positioning Morocco among the elite group of countries with major hubs for aircraft engines and landing systems.

Driven by innovation, Morocco is advancing ambitious projects to make renewable energy a cornerstone of energy security and an attractor for industries seeking competitive, decarbonized energy.

Under this ambitious strategy, the operational rollout of the ‘Green Hydrogen Morocco Offer’ has begun, with authorizations granted for the first group of megaprojects.

My dear people,

In a global context marked by resurgent protectionism and the need to secure supply and production chains, We have prioritized strengthening national sovereignty and strategic self-sufficiency in industrial development.

This approach is vividly illustrated by the agri-food and pharmaceutical industries, which now cover nearly 80% of national needs.

Additionally, establishing an industrial and technological base for defense and cybersecurity will gradually consolidate defense sovereignty and create development opportunities, reinforcing Morocco’s status as a regional power in these fields.

Alongside economic growth, We are advancing multiple human development initiatives, particularly through the expansion of social protection. Our goal is to improve living conditions and achieve social and spatial justice.

Here, We stress the importance of efficiently implementing integrated territorial development programs, ensuring they reach every region without exception.

Sustaining this economic and social transformation requires unprecedented financial resources, primarily mobilized domestically.

Therefore, We urge the national financial sector to continue supporting investment and major projects while expanding access to financing—banking and non-banking—for SMEs, innovation, industrialization, and exports.

We also call on the financial sector to be more open and innovative in optimizing national savings mobilization, especially institutional savings, to revitalize financial markets and accelerate Morocco’s emerging economy.

My dear people,

With divine guidance, We have strengthened Morocco’s position as a credible, respected, and listened-to international actor.

The Kingdom now stands as a leading economic operator and a sought-after partner for balanced, forward-looking collaborations.

Armed with this status, Morocco can confidently and transparently engage all partners, presenting constructive partnership offers and promising cooperation initiatives on bilateral and global issues.

Through commitment and responsibility, our country has diversified its partnerships to enhance its capabilities and impact across all domains.

These economic and social achievements transcend government and parliamentary mandates. They result from a virtuous cumulative dynamic spanning years, fueled by strategic orientations and sound major choices.

The celebration of the Glorious Throne Day is an opportunity to reaffirm Our pride and esteem for the Royal Armed Forces, Royal Gendarmerie, territorial administration, national security, auxiliary forces, and civil protection. Their unwavering dedication under Our command in defending national unity and preserving the country’s security and stability deserves Our deepest gratitude.
