This substantial cohort comprised 149,424 boys and 138,571 girls, who were accommodated across 860 examination centers throughout Bénin.

The formal inauguration of this year’s examination took place at the Gbofoly public primary school, nestled within the Aplahoué commune. Notably, the 2026 session also included 97 candidates with special needs, among whom 36 were girls, carefully placed in 13 dedicated assessment centers to ensure equitable participation.

Statistics released by the Ministry of Maternal and Primary Education indicate a significant increase in candidate numbers for this session. The total enrollment saw a rise of 5.56% compared to the previous year’s examination, highlighting growing participation in Bénin’s primary education system.
